Snowball Express 2009 – When in Dallas…

Posted on 16 December 2009 by Jerry Castillo

Dec. 10, 2009 Dallas, TX. part 2 of 3 Snowball Express mini-web series. They began their 2nd day visiting the legendary South Fork Ranch in Parker, TX. As the families boarded their buses a few took time to meet with the PGR and their motorcycles.

Afterward the Dallas police escorted the bus convey from South Fork Ranch to the world famous Mesquite Rodeo. Once the convey reached the highway the police shut down the freeway to allow for a 2-mile long convey of PGR and buses.

Once the SBE arrived at the rodeo they were treated to dinner at the convention center located next door. As the families finished their meals they made their way into the rodeo. They were greeted by cheerleaders and the Cowgirl Chicks distributed complimentary cowboy hats. There were pony rides, toys and face-painting before the show.

The climax for the evening was the rodeo opening performance in tribute to our military and their families. Also, there was bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, calf scramble, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing and no rodeo would be complete without bull riding.
