Patriot Guard Riders National GOTG 2010 Opening

National GOTG 2010 Field of Honor, with bagpiper playing while attendees place dog tags around the flag pole in memory of their heroes
Killeen, TX Sept. 10,2010 the Patriot Guard Riders held their National Gathering of the Guard near Ft. Hood. Remnants of Hurricane Hermine had passed through a couple of days prior and caused a few rain delays.
By 3:00 PM 400-500 riders, active military, family members, and special guests gathered for the opening ceremonies in front of the American Veterans Traveling Tribute, featuring The Wall and the Texas Patriot Guard Riders Field of Honor, 1st Cav. Color Guard, and VIP speakers.
The ceremony began with the Texas Liberty Bell tolling the start of the festivity.
(for more details see below)
Ft. Hood, 1st Cav. presented the colors. After the National Anthem and prayer guest speakers gave very motivational speeches. Texas State Senator, the Honorable Bryan Birdwell, is a Sept. 11th Pentagon survivor. His speech was about the work the PGR does and how it is closely related to scriptures from the bible. (The entire speech can be found here)
Other speakers included a former 1st Cav., 5th Bat., Commander, US Army, Col. Kurt Pinkerton. He is also the PGR’s newest member and great speaker. Listen as he reflects on the 18-KIA soldiers he sent home and what it meant to him, as a commander, when he learned of how his warriors were treated when they returned back to American soil.
After the speeches the ceremonies concluded with a 21-Dove release in honor of all our fallen, veterans, and those yet to be found.
To my PGR friends and viewers here is your opportunity to help support our efforts in getting the word out to the community not just about the honorable service the PGR provides, but for all those who serve, past, present and future.
We as veterans must take care of our own by setting the proper example of what it means to be an American Patriot. First we must honor the lives that are sacrificed or served on behalf of liberty, freedom and justice for all. Secondly, we must look after our wounded warriors. Lastly, we need to help those left behind.
Our mission is that of scribes and we document what we see. Of course today’s technology provides with great toys to carry out our mission and share with the public. Please help us continue with our mission by ordering a copy of the full 30-minute video of the GOTG 2010 event for $25; I’ll even throw in the shipping.

Welcome to USFallen.org
USFallen.org is a small project made up of N. Texans who report on and memorialize US military fallen warriors and notable veterans.
We film homecomings and military funerals in the North Texas area as a public service for our active duty service members, family and friends unable to attend.
We are proud of all the many different people who have watched our videos. Here are samples of what our viewers have written us;
"Thank you for sharing my brother's services on your web page. It is important for our entire nation to see and realize that this is the cost we have to pay for our freedom."~ Pat E.
"As a 12 year veteran and patriotic American I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your channel and videos."~ Armyguy71
"You're doing a fantastic job honoring our fallen vets! Many blessings."~GM
"Many of your young men died helping us thank you from an Englishman."~BL
"I would personally like to thank the staff at USFallen.org for the Memorial Tribute that they placed on their website. This remarkable video will be cherished by the family members and friends forever. You are a true American Hero!" ~ SFC K. J. Brew
