Pvt. Devon J Harris, KIA, Military Honors Dec. 6, 2010

Pvt. Devon J Harris
On Dec. 6, 2010 at DFW National Cemetery members of the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders escorted the body of Pvt. Devon Harris to his final resting place. An Honor Guard detail from the 4th Battalion, 10th Mountain Division rendered full military honors to one of their own.
As the funeral procession made its entry into the main plaza they were greeted by members of the Sons of the Revolutionary War. Once the hearse from Black & Clark Funeral Home parked at Committal Shelter B, representatives of the military, both past and present, joined in rendering full-military honors.
It was late in the afternoon and the sun was setting. The 250+ participants came to pay their final respects endured the cool temperatures, but the air was still for the most part.
The Texas Liberty Bell rang out the solemn tempo as the hearse arrived. The Balladeer, David Hall, also performs a slow march anytime the casket is in motion and the 7-rings of honor, as the American flag is presented to the family.
This video highlights the dignified military funeral services for a fallen soldier who gave his last full measure of devotion on our behalf.

2Sometimes we know hope as much by its absence as by its present. When we\’re depressed, hope seem almost unknowable, a total illusion. We feel inwardly flattened unable to move, or as if we just going thought the motion. Yet the will of the spirit, as well as the body\’s is for life, even for zestful life.Devon your absence is very much missed, from the song you use to sing around the house, the food you cook, all the free computer repairs. What I miss most is the present of your tender heart. Out of all the 5(kids)you had themost biggest heart. I’m thankful that God made you so sweet and kind. I love you so much Devon . This is not our last visit because I too will someday make the path way to heaven as you( see you in heaven). Thank you for begin such a brave solider .
