USMC Sgt. Zachary J. Walters (KIA) – Welcome Home
June 18, 2010 (Dallas, TX), at approximately 1130 hours a charter plane landed at Dallas Love Field with the cremains of Sgt. Zachary J. Walters. As the plane parked and shut down his family was escorted out to the tarmac. An honor guard detail from the 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines Regiment conducted a dignified transfer ceremony from the plane to a waiting hearse.
USAF Maj. Curtis “Dan” Miller – Forever Love Sue
On the 38th anniversary of his plane crash, Maj. Miller was taken to his final committal at DFW National Cemetery and rendered full military honors by State Rep. Lois Kolkhorst, USAF Honor Guard and Arm Forces Color Guard.
Army Capt. Paul W. Peña – Full Military Honors
Paul W. Peña, 27, was Kill-In-Action on January 19, 2010, while on patrol in Arghandab River Valley, Afghanistan.
Army Spc. Joseph M. Lewis – Somebody’s Special Someone
SPC Joseph Michael Lewis, of Terrell, died on Nov. 17 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an IED. His flag draped coffin arrived by a charter plane at 11:20 a.m., Wednesday, at Majors Airfield in Greenville, TX. To welcome him home were members of his family, friends, fire department, police department, Army Reserves, 1st Calvary of Ft. Hood, and PGR of North Texas.
LCpl Shawn P. Hefner – Bringing Home a Hero
Nov. 19, 2009 – Shawn Patrick Hefner, 22, of Hico, Texas; assigned to 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Nov. 13 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Funeral services for SSGT Shawn McNabb were held at First Baptist Church of Terrell, before heading to DFW National Cemetery. The funeral procession was escorted by the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders.

Army SSGT. Shawn H. McNabb, 24, of Terrell, TX. died Oct. 26 of wounds suffered when the MH-47 helicopter he was aboard crashed in Darreh-ye Bum, Afghanistan. A grateful community welcomed their hometown hero home.
