President bestows the Medal of Honor to SSG Salvatore Giunta
Nov. 16, 2010 White House, President Barack Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta for extraordinary bravery in the face of almost death. Giunta is the first living recipient of the award since the Vietnam War.
US Army First Sgt. David H. McNerny, (MOH) dies at age 79
(Oct. 12, 2010) Houston, Texas. McNerney was born on June 2, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, died Oct. 10, 2010. His father was a decorated World War I veteran, having received the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, and two Purple Hearts. Two of his siblings served in World War II and a third was a fighter pilot in Vietnam.

Vernon Baker, Medal of Honor Recipient, Dies at 90
Vernon Baker, who was the only living black veteran awarded the Medal of Honor for valor in World War II, receiving it 52 years after he wiped out four German machine-gun nests on a hilltop in northern Italy, died Tuesday at his home near St. Maries, Idaho. He was 90.

Feb. 22, 2010 Arlington National Cemetery. The late US Army Colonel Robert “Bob” Howard was laid to rest with full military honors. The ceremonies were conducted by the 3d US Infantry Regiment, (The Old Guard) accompanied by the US Army Band, Pershing Own and 12 Medal of Honor recipients as honorary pall-bearers.
